Overview

At Middesk, our mission is to make it easier for businesses to work together by providing instant access to the data, documents, and insights needed to onboard and transact in the global economy.

When deciding whether it is risky to work with a given business, our customers face three main questions:

  1. Is this business real and operating?
  2. Is this business operating as described?
  3. Is this business high quality?

Did you know? We help our customers to answer these questions, yet we’ve heard that many compliance and risk analysts still spend 15-20 minutes on average manually reviewing their customers’ online footprints.

Today, we’re excited to introduce Web Analysis, which helps our customers answer these questions more quickly and accurately. This new product instantly assesses a business’s web presence for compliance and fraud risk across the customer lifecycle – typically as an onboarding step-up method and/or as part of ongoing due diligence.

Middesk Web Analysis key product features

1. Verify information consistency

A business’s web presence is invaluable for identifying and verifying business information, including sources such as a business’s website and social media profiles. Web Analysis can help identify new business details across multiple data sources, as well as check for consistency between submitted and identified information.

Expert tip: While consistency is a positive indicator of business quality, an obvious inconsistency can be an important indicator of risk.

2. Assess website quality

A business’s website provides meaningful insight into their operations and risk profile. Web Analysis utilizes a rating-based approach paired with quality indicators to assess website quality. Customers can rely on the overall quality score to power their decisioning and leverage the underlying quality indicators to better understand the score.

Expert tip: Quality indicators are also returned with detailed supporting evidence to provide an audit trail. Examples of quality indicators include page count, active links, domain age, image quality, and more.

3. Understand additional operating details

A business’s social media and third-party platform profiles supplements their website to provide a holistic overview of how they are operating. Web Analysis highlights additional operating details such as a business’s account activity, customer engagement, and customer sentiment from sources like Google, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

Required inputs for Web Analysis

All you need to submit a Web Analysis report is business name and address as inputs. If you don’t have a business’s website, we will discover it for you.
