But business doesn't stop at the U.S. border. Until now, neither did the gap.

A merchant onboarding platform expanding into Canada. A lender underwriting a UK subsidiary. A payments company verifying a counterparty registered in Singapore. Each one meant a different vendor, a different API, a different data schema, and a different renewal conversation. When any one of those fell short on coverage, the fallback was manual review.

That patchwork is the tax teams pay for going global with tools built for one country.

That changes today.

International Business Verification closes the gap. Middesk now verifies businesses registered outside the U.S., starting with 30 countries across Canada, Europe, and APAC, through the same integration customers already use.

Built on the API you already use

There's no new integration to build. International Business Verification uses the same POST /v1/businesses endpoint, the same authentication, the same Business object and webhooks, and the same registrations response shape customers already work with for U.S. Secretary of State data.

The entire delta: one new order type (international_business_verification), one new optional field to submit a known registration number directly, and one new endpoint to add a registration to a business after creation. Submit an international address and Middesk searches for registrations automatically. Already have a filing number? Pass it in and Middesk verifies it directly.

Starting with cross-border verification workflows

A payments platform onboarding a merchant registered in Ontario submits the business's Canadian address. Middesk identifies the jurisdiction, retrieves the registration, and returns it under the same registrations key as any U.S. Secretary of State result, complete with status, entity type, officers, and registered agent where available. Review tasks flag whether the registration was found, whether its status is active, and whether the business name matches what was submitted — the same review structure teams already use for domestic verifications.

One profile per business. One data model. One set of review tasks, regardless of where that business is registered.

This is phase one. Middesk is building toward a global business entity graph that powers every B2B relationship, wherever it happens. Coverage will keep expanding, and the teams already in early access are shaping what comes next.
